Lesson 10. Cartography: Map-Based Learning and Interpretation
This is not a chapter but a cross-cutting skill that is indispensable. The ability to interpret topographical maps, identify relief features, and accurately locate places, currents, mountains, and resources on a world map is routinely tested. Dedicate time daily to map-pointing. Use a standard atlas and practice plotting from memory. Combine this with solving previous years’ map-based questions (PYQs) to understand the exam’s pattern. Digital tools like Google Earth can provide a vivid, three-dimensional understanding of terrain and relative locations.
